Swedish Institute for North American Studies (SINAS)
The Swedish Institute for North American Studies (SINAS) conducts research, offers courses and promotes the study of North America. SINAS is the only institute of its kind in Sweden. Founded in 1985 as an independent institute, we are now a section within the Department of English.

Nordic Association for American Studies (NAAS)
The Nordic Association for American Studies was founded in 1959 and primarily gathers scholars and students from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. As a member of SAAS, you automatically become a member of the Nordic Association for American Studies (NAAS). European American Studies Association (EAAS)
The European Association for American Studies (EAAS) is a confederation of national and joint national associations of American Studies in Europe, founded in 1954. NAAS is a member organization of EAAS. The EAAS arranges biennial meetings and publish the European Journal of American Studies.

American Studies Association (ASA)
The American Studies Association (ASA) is the oldest and largest scholarly society dedicated to the study of U.S. culture and history. The ASA arranges annual meetings and publish the American Quarterly.

Salzburg Global Seminar
Salzburg Seminar American Studies Association (SSASA), founded in 1947, arranges conferences and workshops at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria.

The Journal of Transnational American Studies (JTAS)
The Journal of Transnational American Studies (JTAS) is a peer-reviewed online journal that seeks to broaden the interdisciplinary study of American cultures in a transnational context.

Journal of American Studies
The Journal of American Studies is the quarterly publication of the British Association for American Studies (BAAS). It “seeks to critique and interrogate the notion of ‘America’, pursuing this through international perspectives on the history, literature, politics and culture of the United States.”

European Early American Studies Association
The European Early American Studies American is “designed to foster international collaboration between early Americanists throughout Europe.”

Amerikaanalys is a podcast about American society and politics run by a group of historians, political scientists, and journalists, based at Uppsala University (in Swedish).

Society for the Study of American Women Writers
The Society for the Study of American Women Writers was established “to promote the study of American women writers through research, teaching, and publication.”

Just Teach One
A project of Common-Place: The Journal of Early American Life, this site provides publicly available scholarly transcriptions of early American studies texts, for teachers to incorporate in their classroom.

Their America is a site “devoted to significant expressions (speeches, essays, political cartoons, fiction, news stories, etc.) about America by non-Americans.”

The Making of America Collection (Cornell University)
The Cornell University Library Making of America Collection is “a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology.”

The Danish Association for American Studies (DAAS)
The purpose of DAAS is to encourage the study of the United States in Denmark.
